Brow Lift

Brow Lift

OVERVIEW

The natural pull of gravity combined with aging can alter the look of your face, especially in the forehead area. Wrinkles, frown lines, and sagging eyebrows are often the result of aging and stress, making an individual look angry and tired. This is where a medical procedure called a Brow Lift comes in – it can serve as a miracle cure for a wrinkled forehead and remove frown lines altogether.

What is a Brow Lift?

A brow lift, forehead lift, browplasty, or temporal lift refer to the same type of surgical procedure that essentially repositions your forehead to correct frown lines and eliminate creases.

As you get older, horizontal lines will appear on your forehead, making you look more tired than usual. To eliminate these lines, a brow lift can be considered to restore your face to a more youthful appearance.

Different Types of Brow Lift

Consulting with a board-certified plastic surgeon is recommended, especially if you think of having plastic or reconstructive surgery. The plastic surgeon will take the time to know your full medical history and make recommendations based on your needs and wants. Several different types of brow lifts are available. The decision about the type of brow lift to be performed is dependent on each unique case, medical history, and the extent of work that needs to be done.

Here are the different types of brow lifts:

Hairline Lift

With this type of brow lift, the surgeon will incise your forehead and the beginning of the hairline. A small amount of tissue will be removed from the forehead area, which results in the hairline not getting pulled back. This is recommended for people who have higher or receding hairlines.

Endoscopic Lift

In this type of brow lift, the plastic surgeon will make a few short incisions in the scalp. A thin tube tied to a camera called a scope is inserted into one of the incisions to view the tissues and muscles. Another device will be inserted into a different incision to do the necessary work. Because this type of brow lift uses smaller incisions, it is less invasive and will lead to smaller and minimal scarring.

Temporal Lift

This brow lift is minimally invasive and is usually performed outpatient in a plastic surgeon’s office. It is a scaled-down version of the Endoscopic Lift and will produce excellent results after the procedure.

Brow Lift Consultation

Even though a brow lift is considered a safe procedure, it is still recommended to consult with a board-certified plastic surgeon if you are entertaining the idea of having one. A knowledgeable plastic surgeon who is an expert in this field will be able to guide you to make the correct decision that will meet your needs and wants at the same time. Working with a reputable plastic surgeon is essential to have a seamless experience from beginning to end.
